Samer Makhlouf

Founder and Co-President

Samer Makhlouf is a distinguished expert in cultural management, specializing in the design and implementation of innovative cultural projects. With over 15 years of experience across a broad range of non-profit and business organizations in Palestine, he has made significant contributions to advancing the cultural sector both locally and internationally.

Currently, Samer serves as the Executive Director of Al Kasaba Theater & Cinematheque in Ramallah, where he leads initiatives to promote performing arts and cinema, fostering cultural exchange and artistic expression. He also manages Cultural Programs and Partnerships at Turquoise Mountain Levant, focusing on preserving cultural heritage and empowering local artisans.

In addition to his leadership roles, Samer is a recognized fundraising consultant and expert, having successfully mobilized resources for numerous impactful cultural initiatives. He has undergone extensive international training in fundraising and non-profit management, including programs with the U.S. Department of State.

Previously, Samer was the Head of the Resource Mobilization Department at the Palestinian Museum, where he played a pivotal role in securing funding for major cultural and operational programs.

Samer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Birzeit University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Regional Studies (American Studies) at Al Quds University.

A passionate advocate for youth engagement and community development, Samer is the President of the Jifna Youth Club, representing over 350 members of all ages. He is also the driving force behind the Apricot Festival, one of the most renowned cultural events in Palestine, where he leads a team of young volunteers in organizing this large-scale celebration of local heritage.

As a former member of the Palestinian Council for Young Political Leaders, Samer has established a vast network of connections with Palestinian politicians, organizations, and institutions, further amplifying his impact on cultural advocacy and policy development.

Through his dynamic leadership, expertise in fundraising, and dedication to cultural resilience, Samer Makhlouf continues to empower communities and advance cultural initiatives in Palestine and beyond.
